You probably know the feeling. The pounds are not going down to despite the diet? Some people just do not lose weight, although in their eyes they do everything possible.
You have eliminated all sweets from the diet, you do sports and have kicked out the evening meal. But the view at the scales is frustrating: The pounds should have been coming down, but they aren’t. Bear in mind that even a slight mistake in the diet can make losing weight enormously difficult. These may be the possible reasons:
1. You are drinking too little water
Water keeps us alive. Drinking enough is always important, but with dieting, we should pay more attention to getting enough fluids. Of course, water is best suited for this purpose - soft drinks and fruit juices are often underestimated in their calorie content, because they have it all! A glass of water before each meal curbs your appetite, so we automatically eat less. Furthermore, we often confuse hunger with thirst. The next time you start feeling hungry, first have a drink and wait to see if the craving will disappear.
2. You only do endurance sports
Endurance sports are good, but strength training is just as important for losing weight. Muscles burn calories, the more muscle we build, the higher energy consumption.
3. You train on an empty stomach
Many people assume that they burn extra calories when exercising on an empty stomach. In fact, the body then resorts to its own reserves - but on muscles instead of fat and these should not be attacked under any circumstances!
4. You simply skip meals
Stop! That's exactly what you're aiming for. If we just skip whole meals, our metabolism slows down. Our body goes into saving mode - and saves the next calories as a reserve for bad times! If you want to lose weight, you should eat healthy, but still eat regularly.
5. You sleep too little
Our body needs enough sleep to regenerate. If you just do not lose weight, it may be because you do not get enough rest. We need energy for our training sessions. At the same time, sleep deprivation often leads to cravings throughout the day.
6. You eat too few vegetables
Every person should eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables daily. Especially for those who want to lose weight, the green stuff is important: because vegetables have low calories, lots of fiber and they fill us up. The cravings for the meal are therefore missing, we feel satisfied in the long term.
7. You eat by in a rush
Who wants to lose weight, should eat consciously. This not only means to pay attention to the calories, but also to take time for meals. If you snack, incidentally, you often do not realize how much you actually eat.
8. You eat out of boredom
The same applies to this point. Learn to listen to your body and distinguish hunger from boredom.
9. You are cheating yourself
One of the common reasons why people do not lose weight can actually be the diet itself. Keeping to a strict diet and exercise plan is difficult. Because of this, many people stick to it only halfheartedly. After having a healthy dinner, they often feel they can treat themselves the next day. So we cheat ourselves and suddenly eat more than without diet.
10. You do not eat breakfast
Everyone knows the saying "Have breakfast like an emperor ...". There is a lot of truth in that. If we do not have breakfast, we put our bodies to sleep, the metabolism slows down - which is the opposite of what we want. Proteins and carbohydrates in the morning give us energy for the day and stimulate the metabolism.
11. You eat too big portions
People tend to eat all that’s placed on their plates, no matter how full they are. Smaller plates can thus help to control the portion size of a meal alone. Listen to your body and know when you’re full.
12. You do not do enough sports
A walk alone is unfortunately rarely enough to lose the pounds. If you do not lose weight despite changing your diet, you should try more sports. Especially good is jogging, swimming to stimulate the metabolism!
13. You eat too much healthy foods
"Oh, that's healthy!" With this excuse we often eat much more of a healthy food than we actually need - and wonder why we do not lose weight despite diet. As healthy as nuts, avocados and bananas are - they too have calories and can make add pounds to our body if we eat too much of them.
