It's the little things that make us happy in life. As we strive for great goals, certain moments in the routine of the day pop up that cheer up our minds and give us strength. Whether It's a smile, attention from somebody, a ray of sunshine or something else that we enjoy. A good mood and a relaxed life does not occur when our dream goals come true or when we have found our dream partner. Bliss and contentment are an attitude and approach that emanates from ourselves. At that moment, we decide how happy we want to be. Here are a few ideas to share with you that help create a happier and relaxed life: 10 simple tips to lead a happier life!
1. Enjoy the food you eat
Our food not only has a big impact on our physical but also on our mental health and thus on our happiness. Eat more fruits and vegetables; that means less bread, meat and sweets. Eat bananas and almonds instead of too much sugary sweets. They provide a good mood and are also healthy! Also make sure that you take enough salt and drink a lot (2-4 liters of water per day). Replace the morning cereal or bread with a simple fruit salad, which gives you a light and healthy start to the day!
2. Living happily through inner retreat
If you feel agitated inwardly and cannot find rest, an retreat into yourself is a great enrichment for the body and mind. In order to enjoy our inner retreat, we just need to put the full attention on our breath. It's about letting the thoughts pause and creating an inner silence. Close your eyes and watch attentively the incoming and outgoing air of your breath. Pay attention to the respiratory movements of your body. Try not to think. If you notice thoughts again, return to your breath. Also breathe deeply into your stomach. You can do this exercise for any length of time, but it can take only a minute! You can use this relaxation minute all the time, if you want more peace of mind or if the situation offers itself. With this simple method, you bring more happiness into your life by creating inner peace. Here's how to learn how to meditate in three simple steps.
3. Wish yourself happiness
With the wishes, we can begin to consciously lead our lives. It's about us thinking about how to get what we wish or want to do next. When you get up, you can wish yourself a nice day and meet only nice people. If you go on the road, you may want safety, or you may have a traffic jam-free ride. Also, you will find it easier to find a parking space if you wish this early enough. Whether thoughts have an influence on our future, you can best find out with the mentioned ideas in the self experiment. Once you have figured out for yourself how to control your future with your thoughts alone, nothing stands in the way of a happy life. Because then you have to "only" change your thoughts.
4. Dreaming of a happy future
In our hectic and top-heavy everyday life, we have forgotten how important dreaming is. Train your imagination and dive into your dream world. If you want to have a visible benefit from dreaming, imagine your future life as you want it to be. Where do you want to live, and with whom? What would you like to have achieved? Do you have private and professional goals that will further your development? How much do you want to work and earn? With conscious dreaming you are actively influencing your future due to the power of your thoughts. Because what you can imagine can also become reality. Take 5-20 minutes daily to wish yourself a happy life!
5. Be happy in the here and now
What about the present moment, the now? How much time do you spend each day thinking about the past or the future? When are you really present in the moment? The future can not make you happier than you already are. To truly enjoy life, make friends with the here and now. To be able to recognize the fullness of the moment, momentarily ignore the past and the future, focusing only on what is happening. Even if you just sit on a park bench, something happens. Feel your body and how it feels to sit. Hear the people, dogs and birds around you. Watch the grass and the branches of the trees as they move in the wind. Feel the sunbeams on your skin. Being happy is very easy and starts at this moment. Take time each day and try to be in the here and now as often as possible to see the little things in life. Then you will quickly realize that you can always be happy at any time, without first having to achieve something.
6. Go with the flow of life
What is the point of getting upset? Does it make things better? Recognizing mistakes is one thing, but why waste energy with annoyance? Do we also need to be annoyed and stressed by others? If someone wants to put us under stress, that's just his thing. Then it's up to us how we handle this situation. It can be our inner peace and our creativity in finding solutions to problems, thereby avoiding stress. You can also save a lot of life energy if you just give others “the right to be right“ without arguing and do not constantly insist on your own opinion. Do what makes your life easier. Try not to create resistance, but to immerse yourself in the flow of life if you want to live happily.
7. Show happiness to others
If you want to be gifted with life, you have to go first in advance. That is a simple law of life. We can always consider it in our everyday lives by asking ourselves what the other person needs most at this moment. Some just need a bit of attention, a nice conversation, a praise, a smile or a hug. When you give joy to your fellow human beings, life will soon give you back. Emit what you want to get from life. Love your fellow human beings if you want to be loved by others. Start with a simple exercise by smiling at people in the pedestrian area, even if you do not (yet) know them.
8. Be happy with yourself: practice self-love
A happy life can begin when we begin to love ourselves. Sounds selfish or narcissistic? It is not at all. Watch the voice in your head as it talks about you. If you love yourself, you are just saying nice things. Praise yourself, admire the functions of your body, be proud of your abilities and talents. Look at your reflection in the mirror and say "I love you!" Is not that easy, but brings a lot. When we have reached a degree of self-love, we feel the natural need to pass that love on to our fellow human beings. Does it still sound selfish?
9. Listen to your gut feeling
Doing what we really want to do is actually the most natural thing in the world. However, we are distracted from our inner guidance by supposedly more important things: money, work, partying. You do not have your gut feeling in vain, because it lets you know if you're on the right path right now. If you are honest with yourself, you know exactly what you really want to do right now. You will achieve a happy life if you pay attention to your feelings and have the courage to live your life according to them. Surely your mind will be against it for a while, but you only need the head for the logical implementation of your heart's ideas. Trust in it and give your gut feeling the role of the leader! With little practice, you can thus find more happiness.
10. Be grateful for what you have
"What you do not love will leave you." This is to make it clear that life is there to love it. If you want more from life, you should start loving. A first step is gratitude. Be grateful for what you have. Do not compare yourself with the richest person in the world (these are usually the most unlucky ones anyway), but with the people who do not have as much as you do. Thank daily for your health, for your food, for the people who do you good and everything else you do not want to lose. Only when you thank life for what you already have will you get more of what you want.. Gratitude is an important part of manifesting happiness in your life!
C A T E G O R I E S:
“The day she realised, it was not about the world but was all about her, she grew the wings. The day she understood she was not answerable to any of them who always blamed and pointed her, she had the fire blazing in her eyes. She raised and soared towards the sky. The whole world looked at her in awe and wished if only they could be her. She was not confined to be on the ground anymore. She had the wings of fire and she left a trail everywhere she went, for other to follow.”
